Lately I've been thinking...
Uncleshake started out as one guy, a guitar and a few crazy songs. I had the of pleasure playing with a whole lot of musicians through the years. I was in quite a few bands along the way. For all of them (with a few exceptions) we were writing original music instead of working on covers. Each one seemed to have a completely different style and I absorbed so much from all of them, but Uncleshake was still lone-guitaring his way around during in between. My most recent move brought me right here to Sidney. It didn't take too long before I met more amazing musicians. For a while I was having weekly jam sessions in my attic with 7 really talented people. We played together and worked on writing songs for long enough that we really got to know each other's musical personality. They all liked the Uncleshake songs so we started the arduous task of learning all of them. When everyone added their own parts to the skeletons I had originally written, they suddenly came to life. Soon all of us were playing Uncleshake shows together. We quickly found that it was hard to coordinate seven schedules. Some shows would be five of us, some might be three. Some were still solo uncleshake shows. Members fell out along the way, and sometimes fall back in now and then. Right now we've been whittled down to three. It still blows my mind that it sounds so full. I could not be any happier with the the music we're playing and the direction it's heading. We've been writing again and there are new ideas and new songs and much more to come. Keep an ear out, it's coming...
